The SEO basics every SaaS website needs on day one
You don’t need an SEO agency at launch. You need ten things done right, most of them invisible.
Early-stage SEO is less about ranking tricks and more about not shooting yourself in the foot. Get the foundations right and growth later is much cheaper.
The day-one checklist
- One H1 per page that says what the page is about.
- Unique title tags (under 60 characters) and meta descriptions (under 155).
- Fast pages: optimized images, no heavy video above the fold.
- Clean URLs like /pricing and /blog/your-post, not /page?id=12.
- A sitemap.xml and robots.txt that Google can read.
- Structured data for your organization and FAQs.
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images.
- Internal links between related pages.
- Open Graph tags so links look good when shared.
- Analytics and Search Console set up from the first day.
